In January 1994, the Priory of Our Lady at Walsingham reverted to being an autonomous house of the Society of St Margaret. The Sisters are a Traditional Community whose daily life is centred on the Eucharist and the daily Office, from which flows their growing involvement in the ministry of healing, and reconciliation in the Shrine, the local parishes and the wider Church. They welcome guests for short periods of rest, relaxation and retreat, and are available to pilgrims and visitors. They also work in the Education Department in the Shrine.
Owing to the death of Mother Verity Margaret, the autonomous Convent of the Society of St Margaret in Aberdeen has now sadly come to an end. The two remaining Sisters were transferred to the Chapter of the Priory of Our Lady, Walsingham, in June 2002. Until the future of the convent buildings has been decided, Sister Columba is living in the former Guest House, where she is able to welcome guests and continue her ministry in the Diocese.
